overtime
Scoring: Cannon 1 yard TD run, 3 yard TD run, 6 yard TD run. Spring 3 PATs.

New Lexington makes history as the Panthers advance to the State Semifinal Tournament for the first time ever.

The first two quarters of play belonged to New Lexington as they racked up a 14-0 lead, but Martins Ferry wasn't going to go quietly as they tied the game in the second half. Good defense by both teams sent the game into overtime.

The Panthers opened the extra time with possession and four plays later Cannon found the end zone. Spring kicked the PAT to bring the score to 21-14. Martins Ferry couldn't answer. A running play by the Purple Riders was shut down for no gain on 3rd down and on 4th and 5 the Panthers came up with a QB sack to end the game. This win puts the New Lexington Panthers in the State Semifinal game for the first time in school history!
