Orange & Black Booster Meeting Minutes
April 2, 2006

Meeting called to order at 7:11 p.m. by President Bob Spencer.
Minutes stand approved as read.

TREASURER’S REPORT: JEANIE ADDINGTON
Report given and approved as read. 

OLD BUSINESS
2nd reading of the By-laws read and approved.
Approximately $9000.00 has been received for weight equipment, still $432.00 in the hole. Waiting on other business to donate.

Ron Brame gave report on Bingo. He attended Bingo at St. Rose and gathered a lot of information. A special meeting for coaches will be held on April 23, 2006 at 7pm to further discuss Bingo. Ron Brame will attend additional Bingo’s and provide information at the special meeting. We will need the coach’s information to submit the application.

NEW BUSINESS
None

COMMITTEE REPORT
200 Club – Scout reported two checks have not been returned.
Track – Coach Nutt reported detailed information as to all things to be used and needed before applying for any grants. Bob Spencer will contact Mike Weiland to check status of the Board of Education’s involvement and participation in the project.

Orange & Black Booster Meeting Minutes
November 7, 2004

President, Dale Cannon, called the meeting to order at 7:07pm.

Minutes read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: Jeanie Addington
Checking: $25,303.31
Savings: $850.70
Building Fund: $12,788.10
Track Fund: $35,820.24
Total: $74,762.35

Scout approved the transfer of $1,010 to be transferred into the Track fund which is the 25% profit from football. Motion made by Tim O'Hare, 2nd by Phil Wollenberg.

Old Business

1.) Baseball Dugout project is expected to be under budget which also includes sod work which has been completed.  Currently painting is being held up by weather and may not be finished until spring.

2.) Club 1st drawing is scheduled for 11.20.04 but could be delayed to allow time for ticket sales.

3.) Bingo is still in need of a chairman for the committee.

4.) Outstanding Debts - None other than those previously mentioned.

5.) Track Project is still being researched by Scout for the Nike Re-Use-A-Shoe Program to help with funding. Scout is planning to attend the school board meeting to inquire about the possibility of funding the board maybe.

6.) Concession Stand/Press Box Updating Project: Scout is also to discuss this matter with the board of education to see if there is a possibility of contributing to the renovation.

New Business

1.) Toys For Tots purchase was approved for the bid of up to $300. Motion made by Lisa Heavener, 2nd by Ron Brame. Jeanie made motion to donate a sports wrap & mittens to the event. 2nd by Lisa Leckrone. Lisa Heavener also contributed shirts to this.

2.) Concessions for Basketball: Kenny Halsey will no longer be doing the concession during basketball. Scout would like to see 2 individuals take care of this project, possibly a parent from the girls team and one from the boys team. Athletic Director, Dan Adams, suggested the possibility of turning the concession area over to a non-revenue sport if workers are not found for the boosters. Scout would like to keep this as a booster project. It was suggested that Mary Musser be contacted as possibly taking care of concessions.

3.) Cheerleaders: Lisa Heavener approached the boosters to purchase gym bags for the cheerleading squad. Approximate cost is $14.95 each x 16 bags. The bags are to be returned at the end of each cheering season and will remain property of the cheering€ rogram. Motion for purchase made by Phil Wollenberg, 2nd by Margie Hammond. Also, Samantha Heavener will be attending a cheering event in Florida and asked for booster support. Past procedure for athletes is donation of $100. Motion made by Bill Nutt, 2nd by Margie Hammond.

4.) Nacho Machine is now broke and Jeanie has ordered new one and received approval to pay for it.

5.) Team Camera: Phil Wollenberg is in need of video camera for girls basketball. He has used his personal camera in the past. Phil is researching these items and prices for his need range from $300 - $350 for camcorder. Discussion held on topic with suggestions from John Kay to purchase a more expensive, updated system for all teams to use. Possible problem would be scheduling conflicts with multiple team use. Coach Nutt suggested purchasing digital product. Motion made by Coach Nutt to purchase 1 camera at this time to ensure the needs of filming capability are met with a price cap of $500. 2nd by Ron Brame. John Kay also has offered to help any sport with filming if he is available.

Athletic Director Request
Dan Adams extended a thank you to the boosters & workers for the fall season.

1.) Wrestling: Request was made for approval to have the scales refurbished and to purchase 29 singlets for the wrestlers. Discussion held on topic due to the wrestling program still owes balance to the boosters from mat purchase made 12.05.01 in which the boosters paid the entire purchase and agreement was made for the wrestling program to pay back to the boosters. Only one payment has been received to date. Scout was to make contact with Coach Steve Fondale for the agreement of the payments. Motion made by Bill Nutt to go ahead with the request to purchase singlets and repair scales. 2nd by John Kay.
